Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery) Before & After Case 120
Before & After
Case Details
Excess skin of the upper eyelid develops naturally with age, but also may be present at a young age from genetics for Washington DC area eyelid surgery patients. Upper blepharoplasty (plastic surgery of the upper eyelid) is an option to reduce excess skin or fat to create a natural crease and more open eyes. This type of eye lift can be performed in the office via local anesthesia.
This young woman was born with too much upper eyelid skin, which covered her eyelashes and made her eyes appear smaller than she wanted. She had considered upper blepharoplasty for several years and consulted with other DC plastic surgeon before consulting with Washington DC facial plastic surgeon Dr. Chaboki in his downtown office. Examination revealed mild excess skin of the upper eyelid region. Brow position was appropriate, and she did not have excess fat.
She underwent upper eyelid surgery to improve the appearance of her eyes. She still looks like herself, but her eyes are now more open. As an added benefit, many patients also report being able to apply makeup around the eyes more easily after eyelid surgery. As a facial surgeon, Dr. Chaboki performs many cosmetic treatments via local anesthesia to help patients in a safe, conservative manner.
