Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery) Before & After Case 176
Before & After
Case Details
The debate of needing a brow lift with or without upper eyelid surgery continues among plastic surgeons. Some patients benefit from only upper eyelid surgery, while some need brow lift surgery. Others, like the patient represented on this page, require both upper eyelid surgery in conjunction with brow lift surgery for appropriate enhancement of the eyes.
This woman was referred to Dr. Chaboki to review periorbital surgery. Examination reveals extensive sun damaged skin, severe droopiness of the brow, and excess eyelid skin. The extra sagginess of the tissue also blocked her visual field.
Most plastic surgeons would only recommend a traditional brow lift to such patients, given the degree of her skin laxity. However, Dr. Chaboki suggested that a limited incision brow lift along with upper eyelid surgery could adequately rejuvenate her appearance and reduce the prolonged recovery and risks associated with traditional surgery. Forehead skin is not removed with Dr. Chaboki's conservative limited incision brow lift approach. As a result, patients are more likely to have reduced swelling.
Postoperative photographs are three months after facial plastic surgery. She appears as a refreshed version of herself, without "looking different". She was very happy the natural results.
