This Asian woman had wanted upper eyelid surgery for years, but was afraid of unnatural results. She had family who had double eyelid surgery and was familiar with the procedure, which is very popular among younger patients. She preferred a small crease and conservative changes.

She consulted facial plastic surgeon Dr. Chaboki of Potomac Plastic Surgery to review cosmetic surgery options. Examination revealed lack of crease on both eyes and thicker skin. She underwent double eyelid surgery, referred by some patients as "Asian eyelid surgery", via local anesthesia. A small crease was created and the inside fold preserved to enhance natural results.
