Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery) Before & After Case 325

Many young Asian patients come to our office for cosmetic upper eyelid surgery.

This young woman disliked the excess skin of the upper eyes, which hid her eyelashes. Repeated taping of the upper eyelid was also not appealing to her. In addition, repeated taping can stretch or loosen the delicate eye skin. She sought a plastic surgeon who specializes in eyelid surgery and consulted with Dr. Chaboki, a board certified facial plastic surgeon in DC, to review potential options. She preferred conservative changes and wanted a natural result. Lastly, she didn't want to travel to NY, CA, or Korea for eyelid surgery!

Examination revealed excess upper eyelid skin, which she was born with and that covered her eyelashes. She did not have an eyelid creases. The eye brow position was a little high for her, due to continuously lifting the brow to see better. She did not have ptosis (droopy eyelids). Dr. Chaboki performed a conservative upper eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) via local anesthesia to create a crease and to help achieve her goals.

Since the procedure was performed via local anesthesia, recovery was unremarkable and she returned to work soon after plastic surgery. After photos are only 6 weeks after surgery, and the skin continues to heal with time. The eyes appear natural, with the brow more rested and no longer strained. She is thrilled with her natural results and reports the eyes feel much lighter.
