Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery) Before & After Case 65
Before & After
Case Details
Facial cosmetic surgery is very common in Asian countries, with upper eyelid surgery being the most popular. Asian blepharoplasty or double-eyelid surgery are terms for a specific type of upper eyelid surgery common in patients of Asian ethnicity. Many Asian patients want to maintain their ethnicity but desire improvement by creating a crease in the upper eyelid to make the eyes more open. Patients may even tape or glue the upper eyelid skin to temporarily create this crease.
This gentleman was born with asymmetric upper eyelids with an existing crease on his right eyelid but lacking a crease on his left eyelid. Reviewing cosmetic surgery options with Dr. Chaboki, he chose upper eyelid surgery only on his left side. The procedure was performed with local anesthesia in the office. Unlike cosmetic eyelid surgery for wrinkles, no skin or fat was removed for this patient. The eyelids are now more symmetrical, and he is very pleased with the results.
