Full, round cheeks are a sign of youth and vigor and requested by many Washington DC plastic surgery patients. Flat cheeks develop from naturally getting older and sun damage, but may also be genetic. Office non-surgical procedures are often the first choice for patients, who may be afraid of facial surgery or may not have the time for recovery. Despite the benefits of facial fillers (ex. Juvederm, Restylane, etc), facial fillers still cannot replace solid implants of the face in terms of projection and shape for appropriate patients. Cheek and chin implants of a variety of shapes and sizes were evaluated in the office. Together with Dr. Chaboki’s advice, he chose extra large silicone implants due to the severity of bone deficiency.

Chin and cheek implant surgery was performed via anesthesia. All stitches dissolve with time. The initial recovery after facial implants is the first week, when a majority of bruising and swelling resolves for most patients. Patients generally resume exercise after 2 weeks after surgery.
