Facial Sculpting Before & After Case 121
Before & After
Case Details
Plastic surgeons will assess the entire face during a cosmetic surgery consultation, not necessarily just a specific facial area. A chin that is small relative to other areas of the face may draw disproportionate attention to other facial areas, such as the nose or neck. For example, a patient may complain of a "big" nose or "fat" neck.
Patients with a small, weak chin can benefit from chin augmentation with a silicone implant or facial filler (ex. Juvederm®). While plastic surgeons offer a variety of methods to improve the chin, the benefit of a silicone chin implant is that it offers permanent, three dimensional improvement with minimal downtime that other options may not provide. Chin implants come in several shapes and sizes, which can be further modified as necessary.
This Washingtonian patient had felt the chin was relatively small and considered various cosmetic procedures to improve the chin and jawline. Cosmetic surgery consultation with Dr. Chaboki allowed the patient to visualize potential aesthetic surgery results via computer simulation. The patient underwent chin augmentation with a silicone implant to improve the appearance. Not only is the chin and jawline more proportionate, but the neck itself has an improved appearance without liposuction. Chin implant surgery is a quick outpatient procedure performed with an incision hidden under the chin.
