Facial Sculpting Before & After Case 137
Before & After
Case Details
A small chin often co-exists with a large nose. A disproportionately small chin can make a nose appear relatively larger. Most DC patients come initially for rhinoplasty to reduce the size of their nose, not realizing that the chin may also need to be addressed with plastic surgery for a balanced face.
Chin augmentation can be performed by two primary methods: non-surgical facial filler injections or a surgical chin implant. Office injections (ex. Juvederm®) provide more subtle improvement with results lasting several months, which may be appropriate for some Washingtonians. Chin implant surgery provides permanent results, which is by far the most popular choice for chin augmentation candidates. Chin surgery usually takes less than an hour via an incision hidden under the chin. Silicone implants come in a range of sizes and shapes.
This Washington DC gentleman originally went to a plastic surgeon in New York area for rhinoplasty. After the rhinoplasty, he felt the need for further aesthetic improvement. He researched additional facial plastic surgery procedures, such as neck liposuction and buccal fat reduction to improve definition of his jawline.
After seeing all the positive patient reviews, he had a cosmetic consultation with Dr. Chaboki. Preoperative office consultation allowed him to visualize potential surgical results via computer simulation. He initially seriously considered facial and neck fat reduction surgery. However, Dr. Chaboki instead recommended chin augmentation as a solution for his desired appearance. The patient underwent chin augmentation with a silicone implant without neck liposuction. Not only is the chin and jawline more proportionate, but the neck has also improved without direct neck surgery.
