Many people want a neck lifting procedure to reduce excess neck fat and skin. Plastic surgeons often offer a traditional lower facelift to tighten and lift the neck skin. Facelifts and neck lifts typically involve an incision around the ear, including mini lifts, S-lifts, or MACS lifts. While a facelift may give the best cosmetic result, not every patient wants or has the recovery time for such plastic surgery. This woman was seeking neck improvement without cosmetic surgery due to an upcoming engagement. After consultation with facial plastic surgeon Dr. Chaboki, she decided on a more conservative approach to facial rejuvenation. In addition, she was a smoker with increased risks after facelift surgery. 

Dr. Chaboki performed liposuction of the neck and jowls alone, without any skin removal. Very small incisions were placed just under the chin and behind the ears which are not visible. Neck liposuction generally produces more subtle improvement than with traditional facelift surgery, but the recovery is significantly faster. For patients who have minimal downtime, neck liposuction may be the best option.
