Liposuction Before & After Case 208
Before & After
Case Details
A more defined chin and jawline is often requested in our Washington, D.C., plastic surgery office. Patients may complain of a weak chin, double chin, or submental fullness. Patients who want more chin definition often have an underdeveloped lower jaw bone (mandible) and a history of wisdom teeth extractions. Read more about how an overbite predisposes one to a double chin.
A small chin is augmented primarily by a silicone implant or facial filler (ex. Juvederm®), the two most popular methods of enhancing the chin. Chin implants come in a variety of shapes and sizes, which can be further modified as necessary by the plastic surgeon. One benefit of silicone chin implant surgery is that it has minimal downtime and may be combined with other procedures, such as buccal fat reduction or neck liposuction, to further enhance the jawline.
This patient had a relatively weak chin since childhood. He was not overweight and had a healthy lifestyle with routine exercise. He researched a variety of cosmetic procedures to improve the chin and jawline, including facelift surgery. After seeing all the positive plastic surgery reviews, he had a cosmetic surgery consultation with Dr. Chaboki. Cosmetic consultation via computer simulation and skeletal model allowed him to visualize potential surgical results and “test try” a variety of chin implants.
He underwent chin augmentation with a large silicone implant and neck liposuction. The chin and jawline are more defined, and the neck has also been lifted with liposuction. Chin implant surgery is performed with an incision hidden under the chin. Read more about chin surgery in our blog.
