Rhinoplasty - Cosmetic Before & After Case 107
Before & After
Case Details
Endonasal (closed) rhinoplasty is one approach to change the appearance of the nose. With endonasal rhinoplasty, the nose can be reshaped without external incisions or stitches. Bone and cartilage is modified via incisions hidden inside the nostrils. The other rhinoplasty approach is open rhinoplasty, where an incision is placed on the outside of the nose between the nostrils. Each rhinoplasty approach has its advantages and disadvantages. Some plastic surgeons specialize in one of the two approaches, while some plastic surgeons offer both approaches to their patients. Dr. Chaboki performs all types of rhinoplasty, but his preferred method is the endonasal or closed rhinoplasty for a majority of patients.
This patient was bothered by the bump on the nose and relatively wide bridge. The patient consulted with Washington rhinoplasty specialist Dr. Chaboki to review cosmetic rhinoplasty options. Computer simulation imaging prior to surgery allowed visualization of potential results with rhinoplasty. The patient underwent a closed rhinoplasty to narrow the bridge, reduce the bump, and improve symmetry. Natural results are achieved without external scars.
