Rhinoplasty - Cosmetic Before & After Case 205
Before & After
Case Details
Washington DC cosmetic rhinoplasty patients generally want smaller noses. Rhinoplasty can achieve many goals such as reduction of a bump, lifting of the tip, and narrowing the nostrils. The main rhinoplasty goal, however, is to make a nose more proportionate. A balanced nose is preferred, and some patients can benefit from a larger nose.
This patient wanted rhinoplasty for years. She reported the nose was too "flat" and had no structure. She wanted to build the bridge and didn't want fillers via nonsurgical rhinoplasty or a silicone nasal implant, which is very popular in Asian countries. Nonsurgical rhinoplasty, while a good option for many patients, is temporary. Silicone nasal implants are more likely to shift, extrude, or become infected as compared to cartilage grafts.
She found Dr. Chaboki, who specializes in cosmetic facial surgery, to review rhinoplasty options. Computer simulation allowed her to visualize potential outcomes prior to cosmetic surgery.
Her closed rhinoplasty utilized her own cartilage from the nasal septum to help build the bridge. Cartilage was layered to maximize the augmentation. Postoperative photographs approximately three months after rhinoplasty surgery show results that are natural, while still maintaining her Asian ethnicity. With increased nose structure, she also reports improvement while wearing eyeglasses.
