Rhinoplasty - Cosmetic Before & After Case 220

Rhinoplasty is considered the most difficult procedure by plastic surgeons worldwide. Nose surgery deals with skin, cartilage, bone, and mucous membranes.

Rhinoplasty affects appearance and function of the nose. Top plastic surgeons treat both the internal and external aspects of the nose with rhinoplasty. A deviated septum can be improved, in addition to improving the profile. Reducing a bump and/or lifting a droopy nasal tip are not necessarily the only reasons to have rhinoplasty.

This patient consulted with Washington DC rhinoplasty surgeon Dr. Chaboki to review options. Consultation with Dr. Chaboki, one of only a few select DC surgeons who perform closed rhinoplasty, allowed the patient to review potential rhinoplasty options to improve the appearance of the nose. Examination revealed a deviated nasal septum, nasal bump, and droopy tip. The nasal tip also dipped further with smiling.

She wanted to improve the appearance and function of the nose. The patient underwent closed rhinoplasty by Dr. Chaboki, in addition to septoplasty and turbinate reduction, which avoided an external scar. The bump was conservatively shaved and osteotomy (bone reshaping) was not required in this case. The tip cartilage was modified using her own cartilage from septoplasty.

After photographs are several months after rhinoplasty. The nose appears natural and fits her face. The appearance continues to be refined as the rhinoplasty swelling resolves. Plastic surgeons generally advise that it takes a year or longer for "final" results. The patient has referred friends and family to Dr. Chaboki for his expertise in facial plastic surgery.
