Rhinoplasty - Cosmetic Before & After Case 264

Straightening a crooked nose is considered very difficult by many rhinoplasty surgeons. First, everyone has some form of asymmetry of the nose and face. This chronic asymmetry is developmental and considered normal. Second, nasal cartilage and bone have memory and can shift or move following surgery. In addition, scarring can further distort tissue is various ways. 

This Washington DC rhinoplasty patient consulted with Dr. Chaboki to review potential rhinoplasty options. He had chronic nasal asymmetry from development. He never injured or fractured the nose. Examination revealed significant asymmetry of the nasal bones and cartilage, including a severe deviated septum. 

He had closed, preservation rhinoplasty by Dr. Chaboki. This surgery is considered "scarless" and was performed in a manner to preserve his native nose and avoid external scars, a technique which is only performed by some specialists. "After" photographs are a couple months after surgery. His nose is straighter and the bridge more refined without extensive grafts, which are more invasive and typically used in open rhinoplasty. The result appears natural. His nasal airway is also much more open, and he is breathing much better!
