Rhinoplasty - Cosmetic Before & After Case 66
Before & After
Case Details
Washington DC area cosmetic rhinoplasty patients often ask to change the appearance of the nose by narrowing the tip. The tip of the nose primarily consists of skin, fat, and cartilage. Some patients may have too much cartilage contributing to a wide tip, while others may have excess skin or fat that makes the nasal tip appear wide.
This young woman was looking to have rhinoplasty to refine the nasal tip, narrow the nostrils, and build the bridge. Her nasal tip is wide from a combination of skin, cartilage, and fat. She had researched other plastic surgeons and rhinoplasty techniques. Many rhinoplasty surgeons may use artificial nasal implants like those made of silicone to augment the bridge or narrow the tip. She was looking for possible alternatives to a synthetic material and consulted with facial plastic surgeon Dr. Chaboki to review cosmetic surgery options.
Her rhinoplasty utilized her own cartilage from the nasal septum to help augment the bridge and narrow the tip. The nostrils were narrowed by removing excess skin. A quick recovery allowed her to return to work soon after rhinoplasty surgery. Postoperative photographs taken only a few months after surgery show results that are natural that retain her Asian ethnicity without using artificial materials.
