Liquid Facelift Before & After Case 222
Before & After
Case Details
Cosmetic chin concerns can be due to a double chin, weak chin, or dimpled chin. A receding or double chin can gradually occur over time with age, while it can also be present with an overbite. As with many aspects of plastic surgery, underlying anatomy is a very important factor.
The mentalis muscle is one anatomic factor of the chin that plastic surgeons evaluate. The position, size, and relative tension of this muscle can affect the appearance of the chin. Most commonly patients report a wrinkled or dimpled chin. Relaxers such as Botox® or Dysport® can help soften wrinkles in the chin, in addition to the forehead.
This patient wanted Botox to soften frown lines. Consultation with Dr. Chaboki reviewed other potential uses for relaxers, including her chin. Dr. Chaboki treated her overactive mentalis muscle with Botox. The chin is smoother without dimples.
