Rhinoplasty - Medical Before & After Case 132
Before & After
Case Details
Taller patients and men should generally have bigger noses, as compared to shorter patients and women. Men’s noses should also be wider, more round, less upturned, and even with a bump to maintain masculine appearance of the nose. Short woman can have a petite or “button” nose, while such a nose would be inappropriate for tall men.
This Washington DC area man was considering rhinoplasty for years and always felt the nose was disproportionately too large with a bump. He was concerned about making the nose too small and looking unnatural with plastic surgery. In addition, he wanted to maintain a relatively large nose for his ethnicity. He consulted Washington DC rhinoplasty surgeon Dr. Chaboki to review his rhinoplasty options. He wanted conservative improvement of the external nose to reduce the nasal bump and not appear as an operated nose.
He underwent a septoplasty and closed rhinoplasty to improve both the external and internal nose. He looks like himself without looking necessarily different, which is wanted by many patients looking at with rhinoplasty. In addition, no external incisions or scars are present with a closed rhinoplasty.
