Rhinoplasty - Medical Before & After Case 147
Before & After
Case Details
Nose reshaping surgery (rhinoplasty) can treat all aspects of the nose, outside and inside. Those Washington DC allergy patients who have surgery often want to improve both nasal congestion from a deviated septum and improve the appearance of the nose at the same time. One benefit of combination nasal surgery, septoplasty with rhinoplasty, is that cartilage modified from the nasal septum may be used as cartilage grafts during the rhinoplasty.
This Washington DC patient had chronic nasal congestion and sinus infections, which did not improve with allergy medication, primarily from a severely deviated septum. She consulted various nasal and plastic surgeons over the years, until meeting Dr. Chaboki. Examination revealed significant nasal-facial asymmetry with a crooked nose, in addition to a bump. She felt the nose was too asymmetric and large, and asked Dr. Chaboki for a more feminine appearance while still looking like herself.
The patient underwent a closed rhinoplasty, septoplasty, and turbinate reduction. Bone reshaping and cartilage grafts were required to improve nasal symmetry. She still looks like herself after rhinoplasty, but has an improved appearance and more feminine nose.
Dr. Chaboki performs all types of rhinoplasty procedures: closed, open, non-surgical, tip, finesse, revision. Office consultation with computer simulation can help patients decide what is the most appropriate rhinopasty for them.
