Rhinoplasty - Medical Before & After Case 175
Before & After
Case Details
All patients who have rhinoplasty don't necessarily need to have their nose broken as part of the surgery. Osteotomy, or bone reshaping, allow surgeons to modify the upper third of the nose. However, rhinoplasty is tailored to each patient, based on factors such nasal anatomy and prefence. Improving a nasal bump can be achieved with "profileplasty".
This Washington DC septoplasty patient was having chronic nasal congestion and sinus symptoms. She wanted nasal surgery to improve both the breathing and appearance of the nose at the same time. Cosmetic goals were to enhance the profile, to slightly elevate the tip, and reduce the droopy tip. She wanted an improved nose, not necessarily a "different" nose.
The patient underwent closed rhinoplasty and septoplasty with Dr. Chaboki, a board certified facial plastic surgeon. Her rhinoplasty did not require osteotomies (i.e. bone reshaping), which resulted in less bruising and a faster recovery. She underwent bump reduction and radix augmentation, along with cartilage grafts to adequately contour the nose. After rhinoplasty photographs are approximately 6 weeks from the plastic surgery and demonstrate her desired, natural results.
