Rhinoplasty - Medical Before & After Case 186
Case Details
Rhinoplasty patients may ask their close friends or family for recommendations for a plastic surgeon. Beyond the online reviews, these personal recommendations can help build trust between the patient and surgeon. While Dr. Chaboki sees many patients who were referred from their own online research, cosmetic surgery patients are often referred to Dr. Chaboki from established patients who were previously treated by him.
This young woman was looking to have rhinoplasty to narrow her bridge and elevate a droopy tip. She had seen rhinoplasty surgeons outside the US, but was encouraged to see Dr. Chaboki to review plastic surgery options. Examination revealed a wide bony bridge, slight hump, wide nasal tip, and a droopy tip. The tip drooped even further while smiling. The patient also had dynamic collapse of the nostrils upon normal inhalation (not visualized in these photographs).
A closed rhinoplasty was performed, thus avoiding an external scar between the nostrils. Cartilage from the nasal septum was used to help elevate the tip and support the nostrils to prevent pinching. Osteotomies, also known as bone reshaping, were performed to help narrow the bridge.
Postoperative photographs are several months after her rhinoplasty, still in the healing phase, but demonstrate her natural improvement. The nose continues to become more refined with time as swelling gradually resolves over several months. She's very happy with both her cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty results, and thankful for being referred to Dr. Chaboki.
Many Washingtonian DC patients want a balanced nose that works well and fits the face. Dr. Chaboki may suggest additional nasal surgery, such as septoplasty, nasal valve repair, turbinate reduction, and/or endoscopic sinus surgery as appropriate to improve the entire nose.
