Rhinoplasty - Medical Before & After Case 235
Case Details
An ideal nose is variable. Qualitiies of an ideal nose that plastic surgeons attempt to achieve will be different for each person. One general quality that some patients want from rhinoplasty is a smaller nose, especially the tip.
This Washington DC rhinoplasty patient reported that her nasal tip was too big and droopy, especially while smiling. She preferred subtle but ultimately natural changes to her appearance. Living in Washington, she suffered from chronic seasonal allergies and asked if plastic surgery could also improve her breathing.
She consulted Dr. Houtan Chaboki of Potomac Plastic Surgery to review potential rhinoplasty options. The bottom of her nose drew more attention than the bridge due to the size and position of the nasal cartilage. Examination also revealed a deviated septum and enlarged turbinates.
Dr. Chaboki performed a closed rhinoplasty and septoplasty. Preserving her native cartilage and bone as much as possible, her rhinoplasty reshaped the tip to become less droopy. After results are only a few weeks after surgery, and the nasal tip continues to become defined over time as swelling resolves. She achieved her ideal nose with natural results.
Dr. Chaboki specializes in all types of nasal surgery, with a focus on closed, preservation rhinoplasty.
