Rhinoplasty - Medical Before & After Case 24
Before & After
Case Details
Revision rhinoplasty may be considered after the original rhinoplasty surgery to further improve the nasal appearance. Deciding on a revision rhinoplasty procedure is usually a difficult decision for both patient and plastic surgeon. Some revision plastic surgery procedures are much easier than other rhinoplasty surgeries. Revision procedures are generally not performed right away, but after sufficient time is allowed from the first procedure.
This gentleman sustained a nasal fracture and was treated by another surgeon several months prior to seeking consultation with Dr. Chaboki, a Washington DC rhinoplasty specialist. He reported worsening of his nasal symmetry and persistant nasal congestion since the injury. Examination revealed deviated nasal bones and septum. After waiting an appropriate amount of time from his original procedure, he underwent revision rhinoplasty via an external or open approach. The incision placed in-between the nostrils has healed well and barely noticeable. He wanted to return to his preinjury appearance without cosmetic rhinoplasty. Revision rhinoplasty has improved his nasal symmetry and breathing.
