Rhinoplasty - Medical Before & After Case 42
Before & After
Case Details
Narrowing of a wide or bulbous tip is a common request of Virginia rhinoplasty patients. The nasal tip primarily consists of skin and cartilage, so that tip narrowing often requires cartilage removal and/or rearrangement with sutures and cartilage grafts.
This woman had nasal congestion and allergy symptoms due to a deviated septum and swollen turbinates, in addition to bulbous tip cartilage. She had considered nasal surgery for years. After consulting with facial plastic surgeon Dr. Chaboki in the downtown DC office, she underwent endonasal (closed) rhinoplasty, septoplasty, and turbinate reduction. Her breathing has greatly improved and the nasal tip has been narrowed and lifted. The rhinoplasty surgery was performed without external incisions to refine her nose.
