Rhinoplasty - Medical Before & After Case 52
Before & After
Case Details
Nasal allergies are very common for patients in Maryland. Rhinoplasty or septoplasty may be appropriate options for those Maryland patients who experience nasal congestion despite allergy medications. Rhinoplasty surgery in patients with a deviated septum varies from relatively minor to more complicated. Maryland septoplasty patients often also request improvement of their nasal symmetry and profile with nasal bump reduction.
This Maryland woman had chronic nasal symptoms and difficulty breathing through her nose due to both nasal allergies and a severe deviated septum. Despite prior septoplasty surgery by another surgeon, she had persistent nasal allergies, sinus symptoms, and congestion. In addition, she wanted to improve her nasal appearance by reducing the bump and straightening the nose. She consulted with several Washington area rhinoplasty specialists, before meeting facial plastic surgeon Dr. Chaboki to review her nose reshaping surgery options. Computer simulation imaging provided her insight on potential results with revision septoplasty and rhinoplasty prior to the actual procedure.
She underwent revision septoplasty and rhinoplasty via a "closed" or endonasal approach, thus avoiding any external incisions. While Dr. Chaboki performs all types of rhinoplasty, including both open and closed, he recommends procedures that are appropriate for a particular patient. Plastic surgery with Dr. Chaboki improved her nasal breathing and appearance.
