Rhinoplasty - Medical Before & After Case 70
Before & After
Case Details
Facial or nasal asymmetry is common and expected in everyone, but the degree of asymmetry can be worse for those Washington DC rhinoplasty patients who also have a deviated septum. The nasal septum is a wall of cartilage and bone that separates the nose into right and left passages and contributes greatly to the appearance of the nose. While a deviated septum may occur naturally, it can also be the result of a broken nose.
This Washington DC rhinoplasty patient had a significant deviated septum which twisted her nose primarily to one side. An asymmetric nose or asymmetric nostrils are some signs of a deviated septum. Consultation with cosmetic rhinoplasty surgeon Dr. Chaboki allowed her to visualize various rhinoplasty techniques and to develop a plan to suit her needs. The nasal bones were made straighter with osteotomies (bone reshaping). The nasal hump was reduced and the nostril asymmetry was improved as part of a septoplasty. Dr. Chaboki was able to achieve her natural results via a closed rhinoplasty.
