Rhinoplasty - Medical Before & After Case 82
Before & After
Case Details
A nasal hump and droopy tip are some of the most common reasons patients seek rhinoplasty, plastic surgery of the nose. The nasal hump typically develops as a teenager and may be associated with a deviated septum. Combining surgery on a deviated septum with a cosmetic rhinoplasty offers several advantages, such as improving both facial appearance and nasal breathing at the same time.
This Washington area woman had chronic nasal congestion and blocked breathing. She also disliked the deviated appearance of the nose, along with the nasal hump and droopy tip. After consultation with facial plastic surgeon Dr. Chaboki, she chose to combine the functional and cosmetic components of her nasal surgery. She underwent a closed rhinoplasty, septoplasty, and turbinate reduction. Her own cartilage from the septoplasty was used to reshape the nose. She now has a proportioned nose with improved nasal breathing.
