Rhinoplasty - Medical Before & After Case 94
Before & After
Case Details
Allergies are very common for Washingtonian patients. Nasal surgery with rhinoplasty, septoplasty, or nasal valve repair may be appropriate options for patients who experience nasal congestion despite allergy medications. Rhinoplasty surgery in patients with a deviated septum varies from relatively minor to more complicated. Maryland or Virginia septoplasty patients may also combine cosmetic improvement of their nasal appearance, in addition to surgery to improve their breathing.
This woman had chronic sinus and nasal symptoms with chronic nasal congestion and sinus infections. She reported to Dr. Chaboki, a facial plastic surgeon, as always being a "mouth breather" despite extensive allergy treatment. In addition, she wanted to improve her nasal appearance by reducing a droopy tip and improving the profile. She consulted with other Washington area rhinoplasty specialists before meeting Dr. Chaboki. Computer simulation imaging prior to surgery allowed her to visualize potential results with septoplasty and rhinoplasty.
She underwent septoplasty, nasal valve repair, and cosmetic rhinoplasty via a "closed" approach, without any external incisions. While Dr. Chaboki performs all types of rhinoplasty, including both open and closed, he recommends specific procedures that are appropriate for each patient. Plastic surgery with Dr. Chaboki improved both her nasal breathing and appearance for natural results.
