Keloid scars are commonly located in the ear and usually occur in darker skinned patients. Treatment requires multiple interventions including steroid injections and plastic surgery. Steroid injections should be repeated to reduce recurrence of these scars.

This Washington DC area resident had keloid scar develop after ear piercing. Dr. Chaboki performed a combination of steroid injection and ear plastic surgery to improve the scar.
